Produced by Gianluca Buccellati (Lana Del Rey, Arlo Parks), What Happened To The Beach? marks Mckenna’s third studio album following 2020’s Zeros. Musically, it’s a bit weirder and wonky, and the sound of a songwriter enjoying himself and gleefully defying expectations.
“In the past few years there has been a bit of weight behind making music,” he says. “I wanted to open up and not worry about things so much. I was putting a lot of pressure on myself in the past when I just needed to drop the intensity a bit and have some fun.”
Track list:
LP - SIDE A
Mystery Planet Pt. 1
WOBBLE
Elevator Hum
I Write The News
Sympathy
Mulhollands Dinner and Wine
Breath of Light
Mystery Planet Pt. 2
LP - SIDE B
Nothing Works
It Takes 4
The Phantom Buzz (Kick In)
Honest Test
Mezzanine
Its An Act
4 More Years
Mystery Planet Pt. 3
